FaithCare integrates faith and medicine bringing hope and healing to and through the healthcare community. Faith in God has a significant influence in health and wellness and a powerful role in the process of healing. We seek to increase access to health services for the under served and uninsured by providing excellent care locally and internationally.
Faith Care was established in 1994 as a non-profit organization to bridge the gap between faith and medicine. The American Association of Medical Colleges challenged medical educators to be role models by teaching medical students and residents how to incorporate spirituality into the practice of medicine. Aware of this and recognizing the need to keep faith alive in the lives of physicians, nurses and allied health professionals, Dr. Peter Schnatz and several other founding members joined for meetings as FaithCare began. The vision was to bring together medical and non-medical individuals who desire to bring health, hope and healing “to and through” the healthcare community.
To the healthcare community by providing encouragement and spiritual renewal to healthcare workers through biblically-based, professional and spiritual counseling, fellowship, faith-based medical education, team building and trainings for medical missionaries. The deep conviction that faith, practiced daily, can help prevent stress, burnout and depression was a foundational aspect of the vision.
Through the healthcare community by providing hope, healing and spiritual wellness to a needy world, by delivering healthcare services, both locally and internationally with respect and dignity aimed at treating the “whole” person.
Supporting healthcare workers in their faith and encouraging one another, along with providing quality care to the community is the focus of FaithCare. FaithCare has grown to developing regional chapters that meet regularly for prayer and fellowship and to serve the local community.
Our Statement of Faith
In God the Father Almighty, maker of Heaven and Earth and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord.
In the unique Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ.
In the sacrificial death of our Lord Jesus Christ as the only substitute and adequate payment for our own sin guilt, providing the opportunity for us to reconcile with God.
In the divine inspiration, integrity, and final authority of the Bible as the word of God.
In the presence and power of the Holy Spirit in the work of regeneration.
In the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, and the blessed hope, His personal return.
In the bodily resurrection and everlasting life for the saved.
