The April 19–25, 2026 FaithCare Medical Outreach to Wuye, Abuja, Nigeria, was a remarkable demonstration of God’s love in action. Throughout the week the FaithCare team, in conjunction with Kateri Medical Services,  witnessed firsthand the tremendous healthcare needs that exist within the community and the profound impact that compassionate, Christ-centered care can have on individuals and families.

From the opening day through the final patient encounter, the outreach was marked by long lines of people seeking medical attention, surgical intervention, eye care, dental services, prayer, and encouragement. Many arrived carrying years of pain, illness, and uncertainty. They left with renewed hope, restored health, and the reassurance that they were seen, valued, and loved.

These numbers represent far more than statistics. Each reflects a life touched, a family strengthened, and a community impacted through FaithCare’s mission of bringing Health, Hope, and Healing.

Lives Changed Through Compassionate Care

Throughout the outreach, countless individuals shared stories of suffering, resilience, and gratitude:

  • One young woman had been suffering from severe uterine fibroids which caused life-threatening blood loss and debilitating weakness. Her condition had progressively worsened, leaving her exhausted and fearful of her future. Unable to afford surgery, she had nearly lost hope. After receiving life-saving surgical treatment through FaithCare, she expressed heartfelt gratitude, declaring, “The Lord sent FaithCare to cure me.”
  • Another patient had a massive thyroid enlargement that was affecting her ability to breathe and swallow. The condition created constant discomfort and anxiety as she worried about what might happen if it continued to grow. Following successful surgery, she shared with emotion, “FaithCare saved my life.”
  • A third woman had lived with multiple large fibroids for more than twelve years. She had previously been evaluated at another hospital and had been told she urgently needed surgery, but the cost made treatment impossible. Through FaithCare, she received the diagnostic testing, surgical care, and follow-up she desperately needed. Reflecting on her experience, she shared that the surgery was successful, her recovery was smooth, and she felt little pain afterward. She gave all glory to God for bringing FaithCare into her life at a time when she had nowhere else to turn.
  • Another woman, after undergoing surgery for a massive fibroid tumor, struggled to find words to express her gratitude. Through tears, she simply stated, “I don’t know what to say… they saved my life.”
  • One particularly moving story involved a young woman who had lived with a large goiter for more than seventeen years. The condition caused chronic pain, discomfort, and fear about what the future might hold. Financial barriers had prevented her from obtaining treatment. Following successful surgery, she shared, “Everything changed. I found strength. My pain was gone.” She repeatedly thanked God for sending FaithCare and the medical team who made her healing possible.

As FaithCare continues its mission around the world, the stories from Wuye will remain a powerful reminder that every patient matters, every life has value, and every act of compassion can become a catalyst for transformation.
