In April 2026, a team of FaithCare volunteers did an outreach Ugep in Cross River State, Nigeria. Over our five days of serving, more than 2,000 patients were treated and a record number of surgeries were performed!
Summary of Services Provided
Total patients treated: 2,200
Surgeries performed (general, gynecologic, and emergency): 208
Eye care services provided: 597 (273 pairs of glasses distributed)
Laboratory tests completed: 304
Dental care provided: 169
Spiritual counseling & prayer: 1,709 individuals
Decisions for faith and spiritual growth: 1,113
Bibles provided: 8
Of course, these numbers reflect more than services – they represent lives changed, families impacted, and communities strengthened.
Once again we were reminded how deeply our help is needed and appreciated in a place where the need is so great and medical care is so limited and inaccessible. Regardless of treatment outcome, the fact that the team went out there and did all this just out of love lets the patients know that they matter. One 42-year old man looked around, overwhelmed, and said that everything was just ‘perfect’.
God was present in mighty ways on this trip. At least three patients reported miraculous healing, one of whom was a woman who had been deaf since birth and experienced restored hearing after the team prayed for her.
These moments were not orchestrated, they unfolded quietly yet powerfully, reinforcing what the team witnessed each day: that God is still moving, still healing, and still transforming lives.
It was truly a privilege to bring Health, Hope, and Healing to Ugep—and there is every reason to believe that this is only the beginning.
